Leveraging carbon abatement initiatives to turn unviable farmland into new opportunities
Salubris collaborated with local farmers in Corrigin, WA to identify saline impacted areas of farmland considered unviable for traditional farming that could benefit from strategic reforestation activities. By providing a strong model for how abatement initiatives can be integrated to generate additional value within enduring farming operations, Salubris seeks to encourage further engagement with farmers and local communities.

Valley Floor
Through strategic plantings in non-productive areas considered unviable for traditional farming, our projects seek to restore native habitat, reduce water tables and create nature corridors for native wildlife.
- Identification and preparation of approximately 60 hectares of saline impacted land in the Avon River Basin
- First plantings completed in August 2024, encompassing approximately 36,000 trees
Addressing areas affected by, or at risk of further developing dryland salinity
With salinity a growing concern for many farmers in the Wheatbelt, Salubris donated 35,000 seedlings to the Corrigin Farm Improvement Group (CFIG) for distribution throughout Poppoyinning, Brookton, Yealering, Babakin, Corrigin, and Bullaring. Salt tolerant Eucaluptus sargentii and Casuarine obesa seedlings were selected in an effort to address the expansion of saline areas after above average rainfall and fire damage to mature trees.
